Chapter Seven: Spencer

“There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”

– William Shakespeare, Hamlet

Spencer never expected his life to take such a dramatic and terrifying turn. As an infantryman and chemical worker, he was used to facing challenges head-on. But nothing could have prepared him for the paranormal onslaught that would upend his world and push him to the brink of sanity and survival.

It began innocuously enough, about ten years before the height of the supernatural activity. Spencer had just started working nights alone in an old chemical plant - a sprawling complex of dilapidated brick buildings dating back to the early 1900s. The place had an eerie feel, with motion-sensor lights that would flicker on one by one as he made his rounds through the cavernous warehouses.

“I’d be the only one there all night,” Spencer recalled. “I’d do my job and feel this complete and utter dread.”

He would watch the motion sensor lights turn on sequentially down the length of the warehouse, as if some unseen presence was moving through the space. Strange occurrences became more frequent - radios turning on by themselves, shadowy figures glimpsed out of the corner of his eye. But Spencer tried to rationalize it away. He had more pressing concerns - he and his fiancee Tiffany had just moved into a new condo and were planning their wedding.

Spencer was not prepared for the twists and turns his life was about to take. Tiffany began taking medication for what was supposedly plantar fasciitis, but Spencer noticed an awful lot of prescriptions for a relatively benign condition. Within days, Tiffany’s personality began to change. Spencer watched helplessly as his once-vibrant partner became a shell of herself, sweating profusely even in winter and gobbling down medications at an alarming rate. “She would eat like three or four of these and three or four of those,” Spencer recounted. “She was running out of them like a week or two early.” Their perfect relationship began to crumble, and Spencer found himself at a loss to explain the drastic change. “She doesn’t remember almost a year and a half,” Spencer said. “She doesn’t remember looking for a house. She doesn’t remember anything.”

Meanwhile, the strangeness Spencer was experiencing at work began to show up at home too. Loud thuds would seemingly traverse the attic, like someone was running and jumping on every joist. “It sounded like the apartment or condo was breaking in half,” Spencer said. The cats began refusing to go down the hallway to their litter box, hissing and growling for reasons that were hard to determine.

The first major supernatural encounter left Spencer paralyzed with terror.  He had just laid down to sleep after working an overnight shift. “Something opened my door,” Spencer recounted. “I heard something walk into the room to the end of my bed.”  Despite it being a bright, sunny morning, Spencer saw nothing unusual to account for the sounds, or the door opening. “I had my eyes open, and I was holding my cat’s butt of all things for some odd reason.” Other than the cat, he was home alone… and the cat was already in the bed with him. A feeling of dread washed over him.

“I am petrified, frozen in fear. I can’t move at all,” he recalled. Whatever the unseen entity was, it seemed to come right to the edge of the bed. “It walked right up, and I felt it lean on my shoulder,” he continued. “And then I felt it lean over me, and like my blood was like… I’m getting goosebumps thinking about it, you know, like I was... it was the most fear, like I’m an infantryman, you know, I’ve felt fear. But this was the most fear I’ve ever felt.”

Just when Spencer thought he couldn’t bear another second, something extraordinary happened. A sparkling golden light emerged from the corner of the room, coalescing into rotating rings with an hourglass figure at the center. The mysterious object floated over Spencer’s body, and entered his head, instantly dispelling his fear “like an eraser” as he put it.

“The peace that came over me - I can’t even describe it,” he said. “It just instantly fell away. I’m freaking out just talking about it.”

But this moment of divine intervention was only the beginning. Over the coming months, Spencer’s reality would be torn apart as he was thrust into a hidden world of dark entities, otherworldly beings, and cosmic forces beyond his comprehension.

The paranormal intrusions escalated rapidly. Objects moved on their own. Disembodied voices called out. Spencer’s young children began seeing and interacting with ghostly figures. His son would hear cruel taunts from invisible entities calling him “stupid” and “retard.”

“My kids could no longer sleep in their rooms because of the ‘monsters,’ you know?” he said. “My kids were either both sleeping in my wife's room when I was at work, or they’d both sleep with me in the living room when I was home. I would watch YouTube videos all night of somebody reading the Bible.”

One particularly chilling incident occurred when Spencer’s young son, barely three years old, suddenly began asking profound questions about existence. “Where did that balloon go that was released at the party?” he asked, speaking in full, articulate sentences far beyond his years. “I want to follow that balloon. I want to know what’s out there. I want to know what’s outside of this house.”

The little boy then looked at his father with an unsettling intensity. “You know we’re trapped here,” he said. “We don’t want to be here. We’re stuck here. We can’t go anywhere.”

Later that same night, the child’s behavior became even more disturbing. “All of a sudden he starts babbling,” Spencer recalled. “And he’s pulling his muscles. He’s like, ‘These muscles hurt so bad,’ and he’s rolling around like he’s trying to break his own back.”

Then, in a moment that shook Spencer to his core, his son suddenly climbed onto him and said “Do you know how cute you were when you were a baby?” The child proceeded to describe in detail Spencer’s childhood room, what his crib looked like, and other information he couldn’t possibly have known. Spencer later confirmed these details with his mother.

Spencer’s wife Tiffany sank deeper into addiction and mental illness, at times seemingly possessed by malevolent forces. She began compulsively peeling off her own skin, to the point where Spencer described it as nearly “de-gloving” herself. “When you saw it, it’s horrifying,” Spencer said. “Absolutely horrifying. It just takes your breath away like, what are you doing to yourself?“

The happy family life they had built was crumbling around them. Their home fell into disarray, with Tiffany seeming to lose all interest in maintaining cleanliness or caring for the children. “My kids for instance, they would drop a can of Pringles, the whole thing, brand new can of Pringles on the carpet,” Spencer recalled. “My wife’s just walking through it for like two months.”

Overwhelmed by fear and desperation, Spencer’s own mental state deteriorated. He drank heavily and began abusing prescription painkillers, consuming massive doses that should have been lethal. “I probably ate 700-800 of them with alcohol in a period of three months,” he admitted.

His health deteriorated dramatically, even after he quit flooding his system with the potent mix of beer and percocet. He started having shooting pains in his side. He often felt dizzy, and the whites of his eyes began to yellow. He was constantly thirsty. “For weeks I just went to work, and hid all day at work. I would come home and lay in my bathroom, and I just knew I was dying. My breath smelled like a freaking corpse.” He suspected liver problems, but couldn’t bring himself to go to a doctor. He often went to sleep wondering if this was his last night on earth.

After about five months of sobriety, but still fearing the worst about his health, Spencer experienced what he believes was a near-death experience. As he lay on the couch trying to rest, he found that his consciousness separated from his body, rising up to observe himself from above. Looking down saw a haggard, sickly figure, with sunken cheeks and pale skin. He was shocked at how bad he looked.

He then felt himself being pulled further away, out of the house and into a vast cosmic expanse. He felt all his pain and suffering dissolve away. “I just felt so much unconditional love,” Spencer recalled. “I’ve never felt so great. It was orgasmic, it was like stretching for the first time.”

As he adjusted to the overwhelming feelings of love that enveloped him, he found himself observing the Earth from space, and hearing the prayers and thoughts of humanity rising up from the planet below. “I could hear all these people’s prayers,” Spencer said, “people praying for their cancer, or their dog, or thanking God... all sorts of stuff.”

As Spencer marveled at the sight of Earth below him, he found himself witnessing the entire history of the planet unfold before his eyes. “It was like somebody was watching a video, a YouTube video, and grabbed the cursor on the bottom and started it from the beginning,” he explained.

He watched as cities appeared and disappeared, lights spread across the continents, and the face of the Earth transformed over millennia. “I saw the entire history of the earth,” Spencer said in awe. “I got two different glimpses of the future, which is kind of weird.”

In one vision of the future, Spencer found himself in a city, watching it expand around him, like a time-lapse video. In the other, his perspective was from space. He watched the earth spinning and observed the lights of human civilization slowly taking over the countryside. As the timeline progressed, he saw enormous cities expanding across whole continents, and even individual buildings growing to staggering dimensions as time progressed. “These buildings were miles high, miles high,” he described.

At the very end of this panoramic view of Earth’s history, Spencer’s attention was drawn to an enormous structure, massive in both height and breadth. “There was a building that spanned across the continent of Africa,” he recounted. “It must have been 3000 feet high. And that was where time stopped, right where this building ended. I can't stop thinking about what these are.”

As this fascinating tapestry faded from his perception, Spencer found his consciousness back in the celestial realm. Having seen countless eons, stretching both before and after his lifetime, it made him reconsider his perspective on his life on Earth. “Everything dawned on me: All that stress and all that pain and all this garbage -- my life on earth -- was like .00001 percent of my existence. It was just the blink of an eye.”

Looking around him, he now saw streams of radiant souls traveling past him. “All these human souls were in, almost like a jogging pattern, like walking around a track. But they were off in the distance. And instantly I thought of my grandma and my grandpa, who had passed not long ago, and their souls came right up to me as soon as I thought that.” He didn’t have a lot of time with them – he understood them to be on their way to be reincarnated – but the reunion filled him with happiness.

After this brief visit, he had a growing sense that, at least for now, his consciousness could visit anywhere in time and space, and see things he’d only ever wondered about. Recalling his fascination with space exploration, he suddenly thought of one of his favorite NASA legends, as told by Buzz Aldrin, a member of the Apollo 11 crew. “He said there was a 3-foot by 100-foot monolith on Phobos,” Spencer recalls. “And I was like, ‘Okay, I’ll go there.’”

In an instant, Spencer found himself standing on the surface of Phobos. “I’m standing on the surface of it, in this dark, gray, broken landscape,” he described. “The horizon was so small and broken.”

Spencer was struck by the stark beauty of the Martian moon. “The sun is white, it’s not yellow out there,” he noted. Interestingly, he didn’t see any stars in the sky, which puzzled him. As for the monolith Aldrin had mentioned, Spencer didn’t have time to search for it before his attention was pulled elsewhere.

Next, Spencer was drawn back in time to ancient Egypt. Fascinated by the mysteries of the pyramids, he found himself witnessing their apparent construction firsthand. “I watched how Egypt was made,” he said.

The scene that unfolded before him was far from what conventional historians might have imagined. He sensed the events were playing out a very, very long time ago, before the presence of humans. Spencer described seeing a “little frail green guy” directing the construction. “It was that thing, it was this frail little green thing that was standing there directing something,” he said. But the green being wasn’t working alone. Spencer then observed enormous, prehistoric animals assisting in the pyramid construction. “The next vision was six massive elephants with humps on their back, with 15-foot tusks,” he recounted. “They were pulling giant stones up a ramp like Clydesdales. They were all linked together pulling these massive stones.”

Perhaps most astonishing were the gigantic human-like figures Spencer saw working on the pyramids. He described a being that was “two thousand pounds, built like the Incredible Hulk.” This entity was “working on one of the stones, and it was wearing shorts that went past its knees that were kind of tight and tattered.”

The giant had distinctive features that left a lasting impression on Spencer. “It had this long silver hair that flowed like a mane,” he said. “It was almost a foot long, silky silver hair just fluttering in the wind. And then it had kind of long curly hair that was balding on top, and a stern, animalistic, heavy brow, and heavy, deep, facial features.”

These massive, olive-skinned beings seemed to be doing the intricate stonework, while the elephant-like beasts moved the blocks and the small green entity oversaw the entire operation. “That little green guy was directing everything. Elephants were moving them. And then these things were cutting them and doing the actual work,” Spencer summarized. The one thing Spencer did not see any signs of were humans.

As quickly as it had begun, the vision of ancient Egypt faded, and Spencer found himself back in the cosmic expanse, contemplating all he had witnessed. The panoramic view of Earth’s history, the journey to Phobos, and the glimpse into the construction of the pyramids had given him a profound new perspective on humanity’s place in the universe.

These experiences left Spencer with a deep conviction that there was far more to reality than most people realized. Whether literal or symbolic, the remarkable scenes he had witnessed in the building of the pyramids suggested that ancient civilizations may have had access to knowledge and capabilities long lost to modern humans. Moreover, the ability to travel instantaneously to Phobos and to view the entire sweep of Earth’s history reinforced Spencer’s belief that consciousness was not bound by ordinary physical laws. These experiences would form a crucial part of his evolving understanding of the nature of reality and humanity’s true potential.

As Spencer's cosmic journey continued, he found himself drawn into one of the most profound and personal aspects of his near-death experience: the life review.

“I went into this review,” Spencer recalled, “and it was kind of weird. There was almost like a military formation. There were a bunch of other people that I wasn't paying attention to, and each of us were a couple arms lengths away, and next to us were large boxes.”

Spencer’s instincts told him that these boxes might have contained their physical bodies, though he couldn't be certain. One of the alien beings he had encountered earlier was at the front, directing the proceedings.

Suddenly, the atmosphere changed dramatically. “Everything turned gold,” Spencer described, his voice filled with awe. “The air turned sparkling gold, and the unconditional love and the acceptance, and everything was perfect.”

As this golden energy enveloped him, Spencer felt a profound sense of peace and acceptance. “I felt so amazing as this thing got closer, and everything just started sparkling. It was like a blanket of golden love just went over everything.”

Spencer felt he was in the presence of God. “This whole time, I was the happiest I have ever been. During God's judgment, I should have been terrified. But all I could feel was love and compassion. Words can not express this. No drug could recreate it.”

Despite the overwhelming beauty and love he was experiencing, Spencer found his attention drawn to the more mundane aspects of his surroundings. “I wasn't even scared about my review,” he said. “I was paying attention to butterflies’” and thinking, ‘Oh, this is awesome.’”

However, the review itself was not without its moments of reflection and gentle correction from the golden energy being. “The only thing I really remember what he told me was, ‘Hey, you need to start treating people better,’” Spencer recounted.

This advice resonated deeply with Spencer, bringing to mind specific areas of his life where he felt he had fallen short. “I remember, like, ‘Oh, I’ve abandoned my mom for no freaking reason,’” he admitted. “And I try to be a good person, live with morals and stuff. But I've got a lot to work on.”

The being conducting the review then delivered news that Spencer hadn't expected. “He goes, ‘Yeah, and you need to raise your children. So you're going back, you're not done yet.’”

Despite the profound peace and love he had experienced, Spencer found himself accepting this decision with equanimity. “I’m like, ‘Oh, that's awesome. I don't care. Send me wherever you want. That's still good.’”

The golden light began to fade, and Spencer found himself transitioning back to the cosmic expanse he had occupied earlier. This near-death experience reinforced Spencer's belief in the continuity of consciousness beyond physical death. He now understood that our actions and choices in this life have consequences that extend far beyond our earthly existence.

He carried with him the insights and lessons from his life review, knowing they would profoundly shape his approach to life from this point forward. As he processed these new feelings and insights, Spencer found himself suddenly slammed back to his body. He described the feeling as being like getting hit by a truck. The pain and difficulties of life returned, but the veil between worlds had been irreversibly torn. He began having vivid out-of-body experiences and encounters with otherworldly beings on a regular basis.

One night, Spencer found himself in what seemed to be a heavenly reception area, greeted by ethereal music and beings in white robes. The atmosphere was one of pure bliss and tranquility. “The floor was a cream color,” he described. “There was a marble desk and marble columns. There were probably about nine people playing the stringed instruments.”

The instruments themselves were unlike anything Spencer had ever seen. “It almost looked like they’re made out of gourds or something. They’re really bulbous and natural looking, like they grew from the earth.”

In another vision, he explored an idyllic garden realm where he encountered tall, humanoid aliens with enormous eyes who communicated telepathically. These beings were shorter than Spencer, bald, with anime-style eyes about five times larger than human eyes, and angular cheekbones.

“We’re here to help,” they assured him. “We’re not going to hurt you.”

The aliens explained to Spencer how to travel between different realms and levels of existence. They showed him how to hum specific notes to open interdimensional portals. “I think it was humming three separate notes,” Spencer recalled, “like the notes that the orchestra was playing.”

But not all of Spencer’s supernatural encounters were so benign. He also found himself face-to-face with more sinister entities - cloaked shadow figures, snarling demonic presences, even a massive blue humanoid with a goat’s head seated on an otherworldly throne.

“I could feel the power exuding from this thing,” Spencer said of the goat-headed being. “I knew I was on the precipice of something that would alter my life forever.” The entity sat on a massive throne, its left hand pointing two fingers up and its right hand pointing two fingers down. Despite its terrifying appearance, Spencer felt drawn to it, sensing its immense power and significance.

He also learned that every human on Earth is assigned a comfort animal to help deal with life’s stresses. He describes visiting a park-like area in this astral realm, where he could see what looked like a city in the distance. In the park he saw a lion sitting passively. “I went over, and sat by this lion,” he recalls, “and this being came up to me, and he started explaining how they send every human on earth a comfort animal, to deal with our stresses, and try and decompress us a little bit, to give us more drive.”

He instinctively knew the lion was the spiritual form of his beloved cat. “As soon as he said that, I could feel that the lion was my cat Foxtrot,” Spencer recalled. “It looked at me, and I could feel its soul, you know.”

Armed with this expanded awareness of other realms and beings, Spencer found he could sometimes perceive the invisible entities plaguing his family. He saw them possess his wife and children, manipulating their emotions and behavior. He learned to banish the dark spirits by invoking God’s name, though at first, he was surprised to find this didn’t always work immediately.

But the entities fought back viciously, subjecting Spencer to terrifying visions and psychic attacks. They whispered thoughts of suicide into his mind and showed him hellish alternate realities. “You are constantly under surveillance,” they warned him. “There is not a second we’re not watching you.”

The ordeal took a severe toll on Spencer’s mental health and family life. He lived in constant fear, sleeping with the lights on. His marriage nearly fell apart. He struggled with guilt over past wrongs that he’s still struggling to make right.

Seeking help with the dark forces that seemed to haunt him and his family, Spencer reached out to religious leaders and paranormal researchers. But few seemed to grasp the full gravity of what he was experiencing. A Catholic exorcist came to cleanse the house, which provided temporary relief. But the entities soon found ways to torment the family from outside, knocking on windows and pulling at the siding.

“I can’t even tell people,” Spencer lamented. “It’s so insane.”

He reports that these dark energies seem to follow him through his life, from his workplace to his previous home, and then to his current home – even sometimes when he’s out running errands. Gradually, through prayer and force of will, Spencer was able to reduce the supernatural activity in his home. The worst of the paranormal attacks subsided. But occasional incidents still occur, reminding him that the other side is never far away.

Today, Spencer grapples with conflicting emotions about his ordeal. While the experiences were often terrifying, they also granted him profound spiritual insights and a deeper appreciation for life. Part of him even misses the intense connection to the unseen realms.

“I feel offended that they are not bothering my family anymore,” he admitted. “That I’m not important enough to show stuff to anymore.”

Spencer has come to believe that human consciousness is like an antenna that downloads information from a greater source. He theorizes that our thoughts and focus can manifest reality, for better or worse. “If you’re dwelling on how much you hate your wife, or whatever happened at work... you’re literally creating a bigger issue,” he explained. “You’re giving your power to that negative force, which in turn manifests your life in a negative way.”

He now sees parallels between his experiences and various religious and esoteric traditions. The goat-headed being he encountered, for instance, reminded him of Baphomet, a deity allegedly worshiped by the Knights Templar. Spencer wonders if these ancient mystery traditions might hold keys to understanding the realms he glimpsed.

Still, Spencer recognizes how close he came to losing everything – including his life. He’s grateful to have survived his brush with death and emerged with his family intact. He hopes that by sharing his story, he can help others who may be facing their own supernatural intrusions.

“There’s a lot of crazy shit going on in our world that we don’t really know about,” Spencer reflected. “I just want people to know they’re not alone.”

“I advise others in a similar situation to recognize your problem,” he went on. “Pay close attention to your thoughts and emotions. Realize when you are in a dark place and consciously try to change it. Stop thinking about yourself and pay attention to your loved ones. Be patient when they are under control of the darkness, and show them love and forgiveness to snap them out of it. Pray. Prayer is our most powerful tool, and everyone thinks it's fake. If we don't let ourselves be tormented and develop our spirituality, it's somewhat of a shield against them. Of course, LOVE is the base of all of this.”

Throughout these experiences, Spencer received profound insights about the nature of reality, consciousness, and humanity’s place in the cosmos. He came to believe that physical reality is a kind of simulation or training ground for souls.

“This life is one hundred percent a simulation,” he asserted. “Time doesn’t exist. We come here voluntarily. I think that we think this is fun, for some odd reason.”

His experiences have shown him the importance of treating others with kindness, and living with integrity. It left him with a renewed sense of purpose and a clearer understanding of the areas in his life that needed attention. As he works to rebuild his life and process all that he’s been through, Spencer remains acutely aware of the hidden dimensions of reality that most never glimpse. His journey has left him with far more questions than answers. But he’s determined to use his hard-won knowledge to help others and seek a deeper understanding of life.

For Spencer, the doors that opened to him can never be fully closed again. He knows too much about what lurks in the shadows and what awaits in the light. His story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of forces beyond imagining - and a reminder that reality may be far stranger and more wonderful than we dare to dream.
